Playback (Cassette)

1 Insert a cassette tape into the slot with the open side facing right.

The player automatically starts tape playback and the display shows "TAPE" and the tape side being played ( or ).

When the end of the tape is reached, the player automatically reverses the tape direction and plays the other side of the tape.

When power is turned off, the full-logic mechanism will automatically switch to the PAUSE mode. This protects the tape from being deformed by the pinch-rollers if left for long periods.

Auto Metal

When a metal cassette tape is inserted, the player automatically adjusts the equalization for metal or any other high bias tape for optimum sound.

When a cassette tape is already inserted, press SOURCE/POWER to switch to cassette mode. Playback starts.

3 Press fduring forwarding to stop fast forwarding and resume tape play.

Press gduring rewinding to stop rewinding and resume tape play.

The tape side indicator stops blinking.

4 Press -/J / ENT. to pause playback.

Press -/J / ENT. again to start playback.

5 Press CST c to eject the cassette tape.

Manual Reverse

Press BAND during tape play to change the direction of play.

The tape side indicators ( and ) change to show which side of the cassette is being played.

Dolby B NR (Noise Reduction)

Insert a Dolby B NR encoded tape.

1 Press FUNCTION/SETUP to select the FUNCTION mode.

2 Press / or - to select NR. B mode, then press

-/J / ENT..

The mode that is blinking at the centre of the display is the selected mode.

The display shows the "N.R.". The tape noise is reduced in the Dolby NR mode when a Dolby B NR encoded tape is played.

3 Press / or - to select ON, then press -/J / ENT..

ON OFF

4 To cancel, select NR. B OFF with the above procedure.

The FUNCTION mode will be cancelled when an operation has not been performed in 10 seconds.

TUNER TAPE CD CHANGER*

(* Only when the changer is connected)

2 Press gor fto fast rewind or forward the tape respectively.

The tape side indicator ( or ) blinks and >> or << moves indicating the direction of the tape.

When the end of the tape is reached in the fast rewind mode, the player stops automatically and begins playing from the beginning of the same side.

When the end of the tape is reached in the fast forward mode, the player stops automatically and begins playing from the beginning of the opposite side.

Repeat Play

The current programme will be played repeatedly.

1 Press FUNCTION/SETUP to select the FUNCTION mode.
