Switching the Tuner Mode

This unit incorporates the MAX TUNE SQ for the highest quality tuner audio. Moreover, you can choose between three settings to suit your own personal sound preferences and usage.

1 Press FUNCTION/SETUP to select the SETUP mode*.

*See “About SETUP” on Page 6.

2 Press / or - to select the TUNER mode.

3 Press -/J / ENT. to switch the TUNER (FM) setting.

NORMAL HI-FI STABLE

(Initial setting)

NORMAL: Standard setting

HI-FI:

Sound quality priority setting

STABLE:

Noiseless priority setting

4 After completing the setting, press FUNCTION/ SETUP to return to the normal mode.

If you find the sound is very noisy while listening to the tuner in HI-FI mode, we recommend you change to Normal mode.

Dimmer Control

Set the DIMMER control to AUTO to decrease the illumination brightness of the unit with the head lights of the vehicle ON.This mode is useful if you feel the unit's backlighting is too bright at night.

1 Press FUNCTION/SETUP to select the SETUP mode*.

*See “About SETUP” on Page 6.

2 Press / or - to select the DIMMER mode.

3 Press -/J / ENT. to switch the DIMMER setting.

DIMMER AUTO DIMMER MANUAL

4 After completing the setting, press FUNCTION/ SETUP to return to the normal mode.

This will function only when the illumination cable of this unit is connected.

Adjusting Display Contrast

You can adjust the display contrast for better visibility.

1 Press FUNCTION/SETUP to select the SETUP mode*.

*See “About SETUP” on Page 6.

2 Press / or - to select the CONTRAST mode.

3 Press -/J / ENT. or turn the Rotary encoder to adjust the contrast.

Adjustment is possible over levels -6 to +6.

4 After completing the setting, press FUNCTION/ SETUP to return to the normal mode.

Demonstration Function

This unit has a Demonstration feature which simulates the display and sound functions.

1 Press FUNCTION/SETUP to select the SETUP mode*.

*See “About SETUP” on Page 6.

2 Press / or - to select the DEMO mode. 3 Press -/J / ENT. to set DEMO ON.

4 After completing the setting, press FUNCTION/ SETUP and return to the normal mode.

When the demonstration mode is used, be sure to cancel it when finished.
