Category/Channel Search Function

You can search for programs by Category or Channel name.

1 Press /MENU/FUNC..

The Category Search screen is displayed.

2 Press the joystick up or down to select your desired category.

To receive the category directly

1 Press / /ENTER.

The first channel of the selected category is tuned.

To search for a channel in the category

1 Press the joystick right to change to the channel search mode of the selected category .

2 Press the joystick up or down to select a channel, then press / /ENTER.

The selected channel is received.

Storing Weather or Traffic information from SAT Radio

1 While receiving weather or Traffic information in the SAT Radio mode, press and hold /MENU/FUNC. for at least 2 seconds.

The FUNCTION screen is displayed.

2 Press the joystick up or down to select WEATHER

MEMORY, then press / /ENTER.

The received weather or traffic channel is stored.

Receiving Weather or Traffic Information from SAT Radio

1 In the SAT Radio mode, press and hold /MENU/ FUNC. for at least 2 seconds.

The FUNCTION screen is displayed.

2 Press the joystick up or down to select WEATHER

CALL, then press / /ENTER.

The weather or traffic channel is recalled.

3 Press MUTE/RTN/SETUP to return to normal mode.

When activated in a mode other than SAT Radio, the stored weather or traffic channel can be received.

iPod® (Optional)

Joystick

An iPod® can be connected to the VPA-B222 by using the proprietary ALPINE FULL SPEED™ Connection Cable (KCE-422i). When the VPA-B222 is connected by using the cable, the controls on the iPod are not functional.

About iPod usable with this unit

The unit can be used with third generation and above iPod, iPod photo, iPod minis or iPod nano. iPod Shuffle cannot be used, however.

Touch wheel or scroll wheel type iPods without the dock connector cannot be connected to the unit.

The unit can be used with the following iPod versions. Correct function of earlier versions cannot be guaranteed.

Third generation iPod: Ver. 2.3

Fourth generation iPod: Ver. 3.0.2

iPod photo: Ver. 1.1

iPod mini: Ver. 1.3

iPod nano: Ver. 1.0

The unit cannot be used with the software versions earlier than 2005-02-22. For details about "iPod Software Update," refer to the iPod Instruction Manual.

Playback

1 Press SOURCE/POWER.

The source selection screen is displayed.

2 Press the joystick up or down to select iPod, then press / /ENTER.

3 Press or to select the desired song.

Return to the beginning of the current song:

Press.

Fast reverse:

Press and hold .

Advance to the beginning of the next song:

Press .

Fast forward:

Press and hold.

4 To pause playback, press / /ENTER. Pressing / /ENTER again will resume playback.
