5. Using the Menu

The phone offers a range of functions that allow you to tailor the phone to your needs. These functions are ar- ranged in menus and submenus.

Most of the menu functions are pro- vided with a brief help text. To view the help text, scroll to the desired menu function and wait for 15 sec- onds.

The menus and submenus can be ac- cessed by scrolling or by using the shortcuts.

Accessing a menu function by scrolling

1.In the standby mode, press Menu to access the menu facility. Scroll

with or to reach the de- sired main menu, e.g. Settings. Press Select to enter the menu.

2.If the menu contains any submen- us, for example Call Settings, find the one you want by scrolling with or . Press Select to enter the submenu.

If the menu you have selected contains submenus, repeat this step.

3.Scroll with or to find the setting of your choice. Press OK to confirm the chosen setting.

TIP: You can return to the previous menu level by pressing Back.

TIP: You can exit the menu without changing the menu settings by press-

ing or by pressing and holding

Back.

Accessing a menu function by using its shortcut

The menu items (menus, submenus and setting options) are numbered and can be accessed quickly by using their shortcut number. The shortcut number is shown in the top right cor- ner of the display. For menu shortcuts, see the list of menu functions.

1.In the standby mode, press Menu.

2.Within three seconds, key in the first digit of the shortcut number. Repeat this for each digit of the shortcut number.
