Switch on
Hold down On/Off/End key to switch on or off.
When you switch the phone on for the first time the language of your Service Provider is loaded (see also p. 57). This takes a few seconds.

The SIM card can be protected with a

asterisks,if you make an error press &OHDU).

The logon to the network will take a few seconds.
When the name of the Service Provi- der appears in the display, the pho- ne is in standby mode and ready for use.
SIM Card
Whenever you change a SIM Card you are prompted to copy the names and phone numbers stored there to the MultiMedia- Card™ after you have switched on the pho- ne. Follow the instructions on the display.
If you want to copy the data of the SIM Card to the MultiMediaCard™ later on, you can use the functions on the SIM Card menu (see p. 21).
Problems with the SIM Card
If “Please insert your SIM card!“ is dis- played, check for faults, see p. 74.
Wrong PIN?
If the PIN is entered incorrectly three times, the SIM Card is blocked, see p. 74.
