“T9” deduces the correct word from the individual key entries by making comparisons with a compre- hensive dictionary.

Select T9 Language
Switch to the language in which you want to compose the message. 2SWLRQV Open text menu,then
select T9 Language.
Create a word using T9
Since the display changes as you proceed, it is best if you finish a word without looking at the display.
You simply press the keys under which the relevant letter is located once. E. g. for “hotel”:
Press before the word for up- percase and lowercase, write digits.
Blank. Ends a word.
Full stop. Ends word when a blank follows. Acts as an wild- card character for an apostro-
phe/hyphen in the word:e.g. 3URYLGHUV = Provider’s.
Go to the right. Ends a word.
Deactivate T9 temporarily and activate it again.
Special characters
Press the key repeatedly until the character apears. They are shown in the display.
To write special characters after numbers (e.g. 5 £), switch to the letter mode first:

T9 does the conversion of language specific special characters (such as ä, à) for you. Simply compose the mes- sage using the respective standard character , e.g. A instead of Ä .

Activate, deactivate T9 (SMS)
In order to use T9 as an input aid, you must be in the text editor: (see also p. 40)
