8. Have a second person raise and hold the tread-	8	Cylinder
mill Frame (36).
Identify the Gas Spring (83). Note that the Gas		83	90
Spring has a piston end and a cylinder end. See	36	Piston
the two small inset drawings. Locate the Spring
Clip (90) in the piston end of the Gas Spring.		Bracket
Using your fingernail or the end of a screwdriver,
press on the end of the Spring Clip to loosen it,
rotate the Spring Clip, and then pull the Spring	90		90
Clip out of the Gas Spring. Be careful to avoid
losing the Spring Clip. Note: Extra Spring Clips
are included.
Next, hold the piston end of the Gas Spring (83)	8a
near the bracket in the center of the Frame (36).
Press the end of the Gas Spring as far as possi-
ble onto the ball on the bracket.
See drawing 8a. Insert the Spring Clip (90) into	36
the two indicated small holes in the piston end of		83
the Gas Spring (83). Then, rotate the Spring Clip
until it clips onto the Gas Spring.		90	Bracket

9. Pivot the cylinder end of the Gas Spring (83)	9
down to the position shown. Remove the Spring
Clip (90) from the end of the Gas Spring.
Next, align the cylinder end of the Gas Spring			83
(83) with the bracket in the center of the Base	37
(37). Press the end of the Gas Spring onto the
ball on the bracket. Note: It may be necessary to		90
pivot the Frame forward or backward slightly to		Bracket
align the end of the Gas Spring with the ball.

(83). Then, rotate the Spring Clip until it clips
onto the Gas Spring.
