Note: All remote control accessories must be purchased sepa- rately (see Accessories, page 33). Follow instructions included with the remote control.

Indicator Light

NOTICE:You must light the pilot before using the hand- held remote control unit. See Lighting Instructions.

After lighting, let pilot flame burn for about one minute. Turn control knob to ON position. Slide the selector switch to the REMOTE position (see Figure 36). Note: The burner may light if the hand-held remote was on when the selector switch was last turned off. You can now turn the burner on and off with the hand-held remote control unit.

IMPORTANT: Do not leave the selector switch in the REMOTE or ON position when the pilot is not lit. This will drain the battery.

Note: The receiver and hand-held remote control kit must be purchased separately (see Accessories, page 33). Follow installa- tion instructions on page 10 ot this manual.

1.AfterlightingthepilotandsettingthereceivertoREMOTE.

2.Press the control button on the hand-held remote to turn the burner on. Press the control button again to turn burner off (see Figure 37).

3.TO LOCK press both buttons on hand-held remote control until light stops flashing. Hand-held remote control is now locked. If the fire is on it will be turned off automatically. In the locked state, the light will not light up when any button is pressed.

4.TO UNLOCK press both buttons together on hand-held remote control until the light stops flasing, The hand-held remote is now unlocked.

WARNING: Do not connect the appliance gas controls to a 120 VAC power source. Damage or injury may occur.

Light the fireplace as instructed in Lighting Instructions on page16.IfusingaHRCremotewithawallswitchsettheremote selector switch switch to the ON position. See Figure 36.

The wall switch may now be used to turn the burner flame ON and OFF.

To turn the fireplace off, turn the wall switch and /or remote selector switch to the OFF position and turn the gas control knob back to PILOT. The pilot will remain lit.

IMPORTANT: To turn the pilot off, turn the gas control knob on the heater to the OFF position.
