Section 4 - Arms includes the following:

Using or Replacing Flip-Back Armrest

Adjusting Armrest Height

WARNING

After ANY adjustments, repair or service and BEFORE use, make sure all attach- ing hardware is tightened securely - otherwise injury or damage may occur.

USING OR REPLACING FLIP-BACK ARMREST (FIGURE 1)

WARNING

DO NOT operate or replace flip-back armrest when wheelchair is folded - otherwise injury or damage may result.

Ensure armrest is securely locked into arm socket and armrest release button locks into place BEFORE using.

USING

1.Press in armrest release button located on armrest front tube.

2.Rotate front of armrest UP and OUT of arm socket.

NOTE: Armrest can rotate back approximately 90°.

3.To prepare armrest for use, rotate armrest downward, making sure front tube of armrest inserts into arm socket.

5.Push armrest down until release button snaps into arm socket.

4.Ensure armrest is securely locked into arm socket and armrest release button locks into place BEFORE using.

FLIP-BACK ARMREST

1.Perform STEPS 1-2 above to flip the armrest back.

2.Remove hex screw, spacer and locknut securing the EXISTING armrest and insert to the wheel- chair frame.

3.Remove the EXISTING armrest from frame.

4.Inspect rear tube of NEW armrest to ensure insert is properly installed with mounting holes aligned.

5.If not properly aligned, rotate the insert using a flat screwdriver to align the mounting holes.

6.Insert the hex screw through the armrest mounting bracket, spacer and armrest rear tube with insert, as shown in FIGURE 1.

NOTE: Ensure the spacer sits flush against the armrest.

7.Install nut onto hex head screw. Torque to 20-30 in./lbs.

8.Rotate armrest DOWN and into the arm socket.

9.Ensure armrest is securely locked into arm socket and armrest release button locks into place BEFORE using.
