The Powerchair may be controlled by the user or by an attendant. Press the ON/OFF Switch on the user control. Battery gauge indicators will light briefly, then either the current battery charge. The Powerchair can then be switched between attendant or user control using the push button located on the attendant control (mode is indicated by LED). The attendant can adjust the chairs speed using the speed button and control direction using the joystick. As already indicated, the electronic controller of your powerchair is programmable. It means the way in which the Powerchair behaves can be changed and adjusted according to your requirements and wishes. Contact your INVACARE supplier/dealer for programming requirments

NOTE

Actuator can only adjusted from the user control.

Freewheel Operation (see 11.1)

To push the Powerchair by hand in the event of a fault or battery failure, or simply to move it WITH NO OCCUPANT in it, the two motor/ gearbox units can be declutched from the rear wheels. First ensure that power is switched OFF on the joystick box.

CAUTION

Freewheel operation is only intended for short-term use in SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES, NOT as a regular or permanent mode of Powerchair movement. In freewheel mode the Powerchair is NOT secured by the electromagnetic brakes, as both brake systems are out of action during this time.
