This food safety thermometer combines two precision thermometers in one unit: a specially calibrated noncontact infrared thermometer (IRT) and a calibrated resistance thermal device (RTD) penetration probe. The noncontact mode can be used for quick scans of a surface temperature, while the probe mode is used to accurately measure internal temperatures.
