This chapter shows you the basic operation of your DKT3001-series or DKT2001- series telephone.

Important - Read First

Be sure to check with your CTX System Administrator and make sure you know which features are enabled on your system. Use the check boxes throughout this book to mark which features you have.

Note LEDs on your telephone flash at different speeds depending on the function performed. Flash rates can be found under “LED Indicator Details” on page 44.

Which Dialing Procedure Should I Use?

Check mark here which type of telephone you have. Use this procedure whenever you’re instructed to “dial.”

DKT2001: If you have this telephone, you must lift the handset to dial a number or answer a call.

DKT3001: If you have this telephone, you can press /LQH or 6SNU to dial an

internal or external number. If you have the Hot Dialing feature (described in the next section), you can just begin dialing without having to press /LQH or 6SNU.

DKT3001 in DKT2001 mode: Your Telephone System Administrator can tell you if your telephone is operating in DKT2001 or DKT3001 mode. Refer to “Using the DKT3001 (DK-SLT) in DKT2001 Mode” on page 3 for more information.
