You can use a camcorder as the player and your recorder as the recorder.

Edit From A			1	MAKE CONNECTIONS
				Connect an AV cable between the camcorder’s VIDEO
Camcorder				● If connecting a camcorder with an S-VIDEO output
				OUT and AUDIO OUT connectors and your recorder’s
				VIDEO IN and AUDIO IN connectors.

Recorder		Your recorder		When a Master Edit Control-equipped JVC camcorder is
				used, the camcorder is capable of controlling your
				recorder. The mini-plug cable is a mono 3.5 mm
POWER				mini-plug to mono 3.5 mm mini-plug connector.
		DIGITPURE TECHNOLOGY		● If connecting to a camcorder with a monaural output,

				connect the audio output connector on the
				camcorder to AUDIO IN L of the recorder.
			2	TURN ON THE RECORDER
S-VIDEO IN				Press POWER.
	S-VIDEO	AUDIO	3	SELECT RECORDING DECK
				Press HDD or VHS (or S-VHS).

Player				Press CH +/– to select depending on the connector
				being used – “F-1” for the front panel input connectors,

EDIT		Mini-plug cable		1) Press MENU.
				2) Select “FUNCTION SET UP”, then press %fi (or 5∞)
S-VIDEO		(not supplied)
				or OK.
	(JVC camcorder only)
OUT				3) Select “VIDEO INPUTS”, then press %fi (or 5∞) or
				OK.
			6	SELECT VIDEO INPUT MODE
				Set ”S-VIDEO” or ”COMPOSITE” to “FRONT AUX F-1”
				or “REAR AUX L-1” by pressing %fi (or 5∞) or OK.
