All users and employers/owners must read and understand all instructions in this

DANGER

manual before operating or maintaining this compressor. Failure to follow all in-

structions listed below may result in electric shock, fire, serious personal injury or death.

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS

Work Area

Keep your work area clean and well lit. Clut- tered benches and dark areas increase the risks of accidents, electric shock, fire, and injury to persons.

Do not operate compressor in explosive at- mospheres, such as in the presence of flam- mable liquids, gases, or dust. Keep work area well ventilated. Always locate the com- pressor at least 20 ft. (6.1 m) away from work area if spraying flammable materials. DO NOT SMOKE if spraying flammable materials. The compressor is able to create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes. Never use the compres- sor in sites containing lacquer, paint, benzene, thinner, gasoline, gases, adhesive agents, and other materials which are combustible or explo- sive. A longer hose may be required.

Always operate the compressor in a well ven- tilated area. Follow all safety instructions and use a respirator as directed in the safety instructions provided with the material to be sprayed. Some sprayed materials such as paint, paint solvents, paint remover, insecticides, weed killers, etc contain harmful vapors and poisons.

Keep bystanders, children, and visitors away while operating a compressor. Do not allow children to operate compressor. Distractions may cause loss of control of the tools which may cause injury to bystanders.

Never engage in horseplay with the compres- sor. Respect the compressor as a working imple- ment.

Always operate the compressor from a stable secure position. Never operate the compres- sor from a roof or table. Use additional air hose to allow tools to reach high locations.

Equip the work area with a suitable fire extin- guisher.

Personal Safety

Do not remove, tamper with, or otherwise cause the tool operating controls to become disabled or inoperable. This will cause the tool to work irregularly and may result in the risk of in- jury.

Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or

jewelry. Contain long hair. Keep your hair, clothing, and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry, or long hair can be caught in moving parts and increases the risk of injury.

Always wear eye and ear protection when us- ing this tool. Use additional personal protec- tive equipment as appropriate when operating this tool. Operators and others in work area must wear safety glasses. Prolonged exposure to high intensity noise is able to cause hearing loss. Dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat and other personal protective equipment, must be used for appropriate conditions.

Do not operate the compressor unless you are familiar with controls. Users unfamiliar with controls may operate compressor in an unsafe manner, injuring them selves or others.

Keep handles and controls dry, clean and free from oil and grease. Slippery hands cannot

safely control the tool.

Stay alert. Watch what you are doing, and use common sense when operating a compressor. Do not use compressor while tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication.

A moment of inattention while operating the com- pressor may result in serious personal injury.

Do not direct air stream at people or animals. High pressure air can propel dust and debris at high speed. Compressed air from a compres- sor can contain water, oil, metal particles or other contaminants which can cause serious injury.

Do not use compressed air for breathing or respiration. Never inhale air directly from compressor or from breathing apparatus con- nected to compressor. Compressed air stream may contain carbon monoxide, toxic vapors or solid particles from air tank which if inhaled could cause serious injury or death.

Use care when touching exposed metal sur- faces of compressor. Many components such as compressor head, engine/motor, and tubing will remain hot even after the air compressor has been shut down. Allow compressor to cool be- fore moving or attempting maintenance.

Do not stand on compressor. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. Proper foot- ing and balance enable better control of tools in unexpected situations.
