CAUSE

CORRECTION

Air leak from safety valve.

Knocking Noise

Compressor is not supplying enough air to operate accessories.

Possible defect in safety valve.

Defective check valve.

Prolonged excessive use of air.

Operate safety valve manually by pulling on ring. If valve still leaks, it should be replaced.

Have checked at local Sears Service Center.

Decrease amount of air usage.

Compressor is not large enough for air requirement.

Restricted air intake filter.

Hole in hose.

Check valve restricted.

Air leaks.

Check the accessory air requirement. If it is higher than the SCFM or pressure supplied by your air compressor, you need a larger compressor.

Clean or replace air intake filter. Do not operate the air compressor in the paint spray area.

Check and replace if required.

Remove and clean, or replace.

Tighten fittings. (See Air Leaks Section of Trouble- shooting Guide.)

Motor will not run.

Fuse blown, circuit breaker tripped.

Extension cord is wrong length or gauge.

Check fuse box for blown fuse and replace as neces- sary. Reset circuit breaker. Do not use a fuse or circuit breaker with higher rating than that specified for your particular branch circuit.

Check for proper fuse. You should be using a Quick Acting fuse.

Check for low voltage problem.

Check for the extension cord.

Disconnect the other electrical appliances from cir- cuit or operate the compressor on its own branch circuit.

Check the extension cord.

Loose electrical connections.

Check wiring connection inside terminal box.

Faulty motor.

Have checked at local Sears Service Center.

 

 

Regulator knob continuous air leak. Regulator will not shut off at air outlet.

Dirty or damaged regulator internal Clean or replace regulator, or internal parts. parts.
