After discovery is complete, a confirmation screen is displayed.

3Click Close to close the screen.

Manual Storage Array Discovery

1Launch MDSM.

If this is the first storage array to be set up, the Add New Storage Array window is displayed.

2Select Manual and click OK.

3Select Out-of-band management and enter the host server name(s) or IP address(es) of the iSCSI storage array controller.

4Click Add.

Out-of-band management is now successfully configured. After discovery is complete, a confirmation screen is displayed.

5Click Close to close the screen.

Setting Up the Array

1When discovery is complete, the name of the first storage array found is displayed under the Summary tab in MDSM.

2The default name for the newly discovered storage array is Unnamed. If another name is displayed, click the down arrow next to that name and select Unnamed in the drop-down list.

3Click the Initial Setup Tasks option to see links to the remaining post- installation tasks. For more information about each task, see the Owner’s Manual. Perform these tasks in the order shown in Table B-2.

NOTE: Before configuring the storage array, check the status icons on the Summary tab to ensure that the enclosures in the storage array are in an Optimal status. For more information on the status icons, see the Owner’s Manual at dell.com/support/manuals.
