The ATM adapter in your filer should be properly connected using the appropriate cabling. To check that your filer has a working physical connection to your ATM net- work, use the adstat command.
Command syntax: The adstat command has the following syntax:

Interpreting the output: Verify that the Carrier is ON in the output. If the Carrier is not ON, your cabling is either incorrectly connected or faulty, or your ATM network is malfunctioning or misconfigured.

To check whether the UNI is operational, use the uniconfig command.
Because the filer’s ATM address is automatically registered with the switch, you only use the uniconfig command to display configuration parameters, check the UNI ver- sion number, and ensure that the UNI is operational.
