OPERATION

SUPPORT LONG WORKPIECES

See Figure 23.

Long workpieces need extra supports. Supports should be placed along the workpiece so it does not sag. The support should let the workpiece lay flat on the base of the saw and work table during the cutting operation. Use the work clamp or a C-clamp to secure the workpiece.

WARNING:

To avoid serious personal injury, always keep your hands outside the no hands zone and at least 3 in. (76.2 mm) from blade. Never perform any cutting operation free- hand (without securing workpiece against the fence). The blade could grab the workpiece if it slips or twists.
