5 More about the HP BladeSystem Management Pack

This chapter provides more background information about the HP BladeSystem Management Pack components. All the management pack components are copied to the management database and include:

•Views

•Tasks

•Classes

•Discoveries

•Monitors

•Rules

These components are discussed in the following sections.

HP BladeSystem Enclosure views

The management console provides a collection of folders and windows for viewing information stored in the management database. The HP BladeSystem Management Pack includes HP BladeSystem Enclosure views that present information about each enclosure and associated alerts.

The following views are added on the management console after installation of the management pack:

•HP BladeSystem Enclosures

This root folder includes all HP BladeSystem views. This folder appears in the HP Systems folder which is defined by HP ProLiant Server Management Pack for System Center. Some enclosure-monitored information appears in HP Systems views.

•HP BladeSystem Enclosures/Active Alerts

This view displays active alerts generated from the HP BladeSystem Enclosures and the Enclosure Monitor Service. The same alerts appear in the HP Systems/Active Alerts view.

•HP BladeSystem Enclosures/Device Bay State

This view displays device bays with state and properties in managed HP BladeSystem Enclosures.

•HP BladeSystem Enclosures/Group Diagram

This view displays the Diagram view, starting with the HP BladeSystem Enclosure Group. The same group also appears in the HP Systems/Group Diagram view.

•HP BladeSystem Enclosures/Enclosure State

This view displays the State view provided by HP BladeSystem Enclosures.

•HP BladeSystem Enclosures/Health Collection State

This view displays the State view provided by HP BladeSystem Health Collections. The same health collections appear in the HP Systems/Health Collection State view.

•HP BladeSystem Enclosures/Monitor Service State

This view displays the State view of the Enclosure Monitor Service. The same monitor service state appears at HP Systems/HP Management Servers.

•HP BladeSystem/Task Status

This view displays the task results. Only remote tasks appear.
