INSTALLATION

LOG SET INSTALLATION

WARNING: Dangerous operating conditions may occur if these logs are not positioned in their correct certified locations. Read the following instructions carefully and refer to the attached diagram.

The log kit contains the following:

a)Front Right Log

b)Front Left Log

c)Rear log

d)Embers

e)Rockwool

f)Vermiculite

g)Platinum Embers (supplied with packaged manual)

1)Remove the logs from the box and carefully unwrap them. The logs are fragile, handle with care. Do not force into position.

2)Place the rear log on the rear log support in the back of the unit with the fl at side of the log facing the back of the unit. Carefully push the log down onto the pins.

3)Sprinkle the vermiculite on the sides and front of the fi replace bot- tom being careful not to get any into the air shutter or the burner ports (burner ports are the little holes in the top of the burner). The vermiculite is used to cover the sheet metal and hardware on the fi rebox fl oor and burner assembly.

4)Pull off ember size pieces of rockwool and separate platinum em- bers and gently place them around the burner. Do not compress the rockwool or platinum embers, leave it loose for the most realistic looking embers. Refer to the diagrams below for correct placement of rockwool and platinum embers on the Natural Gas and Propane units.

5)Place the front logs in the unit, aligning the holes on the underside of the logs with the log support pins in the front of the unit. Carefully push the logs down onto the pins. (Hint: Install the front right side fi rst.)

6)Place a few embers under the front logs and a few under the front part of the burner assembly to make it look like fallen embers.

7)Test for pilot ignition.

8)Install the door and louvers.
