Manual Setup

Make detailed settings for various parameters.

When this unit is upgraded, the “Speaker Setup” contents are changed.

When configuring the “Speaker Setup” settings, refer to this version of the Owner's Manual instead of the “Original version”.

Speaker Setup

Use this procedure to set the speakers manually or if you wish to change the settings made with the Auto Setup procedure.

Select front speaker size.

Front Height

Select front height speaker use and size.

Front Wide

Select front wide speaker use and size.

[Selectable items] Large Small None

Large : Use a large speaker that can adequately play back low frequencies.

Small : Use a small speaker that has inadequate playback capacity for low frequencies.

Select “Large” or “Small” not according to the physical size of the speaker but according to the low frequency reproduction capabilities based on the frequency set at “Crossover Frequency” (vpage 25).

When “Front” is set to “Small”, “Subwoofer” is automatically set to “Yes”.

If “Subwoofer” is set to “No”, “Front” is automatically set to “Large”.

If “Surround” is set to “None”, “Surround Back”, “Front Height” and “Front Wide” are automatically set to “None”.

When using just one surround back speaker, connect it to the left channel (SBL).

To take full advantage of the performance of the Home THX certified speaker systems, set the front, center and surround speaker size parameters to “Small” and the subwoofer to “Yes”.

“Front Height” can be set when the “Option Setup” – “Amp Assign”

“Assign Mode” setting (vpage 28) in the GUI menu is “Front Height”, or the “Option Setup” – “Amp Assign” – “Extension Channel” setting (vpage 28, 29) is set to “Front Height”.

“Front Wide” can be set when the “Option Setup” – “Amp Assign”

“Assign Mode” setting (vpage 28) in the GUI menu is “Front Wide”, or the “Option Setup” – “Amp Assign” – “Extension Channel” setting (vpage 28, 29) is set to “Front Wide”.
