Defrost and Clean the Freezer
Explosion Hazard
Use nonflammable cleaner.
Failure to do so can result in death, explosion, or fire.
You can use the semiautomatic defrost feature or manually defrost the freezer. With semiautomatic defrost, you start the defrost cycle manually, but it ends automatically
Complete defrosting and cleaning should be done at least once a year. In high humidity areas, a freezer may need more frequent defrosting and cleaning.
Do not use abrasive cleaners on your freezer. Do not use cleaning waxes, concentrated detergents, bleaches, or cleaners containing petroleum on plastic parts. Damage can occur.
If there are crumbs in the freezer that may clog the drains or cause an odor in the defrost pan, you should manually defrost the freezer.
Indicator pin
The indicator pin in your freezer will help you know when to use semiautomatic defrost or to manually defrost the freezer.
■Ice not thicker than the indicator pin: Use the semiautomatic defrost cycle. If the ice is thicker than the indicator pin, the semiautomatic defrost cycle will be longer and may not completely defrost the freezer.
■Ice thicker than the indicator pin: Manually defrost the freezer.

Water from the melting ice will flow through the convertible compartment and interior defrost tray down to the defrost pan at the back of the refrigerator. The water will gradually evaporate. It is not necessary to empty the defrost pan for more than an occasional cleaning.
4.When the defrost cycle ends, the refrigerator will automatically turn on and cool the product to the previously selected temperature setting. It is normal to have some water drops in the convertible compartment or the freezer.
5.Replace the food in the freezer and convertible compartment.
NOTE: If you see that food contains ice crystals, it may be refrozen, although the quality and flavor may be affected. If the condition of the food is poor, dispose of it.
