Preset 2: Slow and Low
All Time Favorite Chili
Preset 2, Slow and Low
2 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
3 tablespoons chili powder
1tablespoon dry minced garlic
1teaspoon ground cumin 1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup ketchup
1jar (8 ounces) picante sauce or salsa (mild or medium)
1can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
2cans (15 ounces each) pinto beans, rinsed and drained
•Cook ground beef in large skillet over medium heat, stirring frequently to crumble, until beef is browned; drain. Place beef in slow cooker. Add remaining ingredients. Stir well.
•Cover and cook on Preset 2, Slow and Low (Low 8 hours).
Makes 8 servings
Tip: If desired, garnish cooked chili with shredded Cheddar cheese, chopped onions, sliced jalapeno peppers or other favorite chili toppings.
