Setting Surface Controls
Surface element settings
The size and type of utensil used, and the amount and type of food being cooked will influence the surface element power level setting needed for best cooking results.
The suggested settings found in Fig. I below are based
when cooking with

Surface elements may appear to have cooled after they have been turned off. The surface element may still be hot and burns may occur if the surface element is touched before it has cooled sufficiently.
J_Do not place plastic items such as salt and pepper shakers, spoon holders or plastic wrappings on top of the range when it is in use. These items could melt or ignite. Potholders, towels or wooden spoons could catch fire if placed too close to the surface elements.
To operate the surface elements:
1.Place correctly sized cookware on surface element.
2.Push in and turn the surface control knob in either
direction to the desired setting (See Fig. 2).
3.When cooking is complete, turn the surface element OFF before removing the cookware.
important notes:
-The surface control knobs do not have to be set exactly on a particular spot (See Fig. 2). Use the graphics provided as a guide and adjust the control knob as needed. Refer to Fig. I for suggested power level settings.
Start most cooking operations on a higher setting and then turn to a lower setting to finish cooking.
The ELEMENT ON indicator light(s) will glow when one or more surface elements are turned ON. A quick glance at these indicator lights when finished surface cooking is an easy check to be sure all surface controls are turned OFF.
