Blade Control
Lubricatepivotpointsonthe bladecontrolat leastoncea seasonwith lightoil. The bladecontrolmustoperatefreelyin bothdirections.See Figure15.
Wheels and Casters
Lubricatethe wheelsandcastersat leastoncea seasonwithlightoil (ormotoroil). Ifwheelsare removedforany reason,lubricatethe axle boltand innersurfaceof the wheelwith lightoil. SeeFigure15.
Grass Catcher Adapter
Lubricatethe torsionspringandpivotpointoneachendof thegrass catcheradapterdoorat leastoncea seasonwithlight oilto prevent rust.See Figure15.

CLEANING DECK
Cleanundersideof themowerdeckaftereachuseto
1.Disconnectsparkplugwire. Draingasolinefromlawnmoweror placea pieceof plasticunderthe gas cap.
2.Tip mowersothat it restsonthe housing,keepingthe mufflerside down.Hold mowerfirmly.
Nevertip the mowermorethan 90oinanydirectionanddo not leave I the mowertippedfor any lengthof time. Oilcan draininto the upper partof theenginecausinga startingproblem.
3.Scrapeandcleanthe undersideof the deckwitha suitabletool. Do not spraywithwater.
IMPORTANT:Donot usea pressurewasherorgardenhoseto clean yourunit. Thesemaycausedamageto bearings,orthe engine.The useof waterwill resultin shortenedlife andreduceserviceability.
4.Putthe mowerbackonits wheelsonthe ground.Ifyou hadput plasticunderthe gascap earlier,makesureto removeit now.

REPLACING REAR FLAP

1.Cutoff the flatendof the wire rodwhichsecuresit to the deck. See Figure16.
2.Attachthe newflap andnew rodto thedeck, bendingthe endsof the new rodoverto secureto deck.
