REPLACING BATTERY

Batteriescontainsulfuricacid whichmaycauseburns. Donot short I circuitormutilatebatteriesin anyway.Do not putbatteriesin fireas _thesemayburstorreleasetoxic materials.

1.Loosenstarknobssecuringupperandlowerhandlesand carefullyfoldthe upperhandledowntowardthelowerhandleas shownin Figure19.

2.Removethe two screwssecuringbatterycoverto batteryhousing andplacethemto the side.See Figure19.

3.Openbatterycover,removepositiveandnegativeleadsfrom battery,removeandreplacewith newbattery.Connectthe positiveleadto the positiveside of the batterypack,then connect the negativeside.

NOTE:Thebatteryyou havemaydifferslightlyfromthe oneshownin Figure20. Referto the PartsList.

iMPORTANT:Whenreplacingbatterypack inhandlepanel,battery packmustbepositionedwiththe positiveterminalto the left side andthe negativeterminalto the rightsideof panel(Positiveterminal isclosestto the keyswitch).SeeFigure20. Replacingbatterypack incorrectlywill causeseriousdamage.

4.Reattachbatterycoverto batteryhousingbysecuringwiththe twoscrewsremovedearlier,makingsureto snapthe wire conduit onthe leftintoplaceon the housing.

5.Foldhandlesbackupandtightenstarknobs.

Do notremovethe batterypackfromtheelectricstarterhousingfor anyreasonotherthanreplacement.

Charging Battery

Thebatterycontainscorrosivefluidandtoxic material;handlewith

careandkeepawayfromchildren.Donot puncture,disassemble, f mutilateor incineratethe battery.Explosivegasescouldbevented duringchargingordischarging.Use ina wellventilatedarea,away fromsourcesof ignition.

NOTE:Thespecialdesignedplugon thechargerwill onlyfit intothe plugonthe batterybox.

1.Plugthe batterychargerintothe porton the undersideof the batteryhousing.SeeFigure21.

2.Insertthe batterychargerplug intoa standard120volthousehold outlet.Chargebatteryfor 8to 10hoursbeforeinitialuse. Failure to do somayresult indiminishedbatterylife. Do not charge longer than 12 hours. The batteryshouldonly needto be

chargedupon initialsetupandafterany otherextendedperiodsof

non-use.

3.Aftercharging,disconnectchargerplugfromoutletfirst,then

disconnectchargerleadfrombattery.
