Before performing any maintenance, re- pair or cleaning work on the unit, make sure the engine and cutting attachment are completely stopped. Disconnect the spark plug wire before performing service or maintenance work..
NOTE:
Using
Muffler
This unit must never be operated with a faulty or missing spark arrester or muf- fler. Make sure the muffler is well secured and in good condition. A worn or damaged muffler is a fire hazard and may also cause hearing loss.

Daily Maintenance
Prior to each work day, perform the following:
nRemove dirt or debris from the engine, check the cooling fins and air cleaner for clogging and clean them as necessary.
10-Hour Maintenance
(more frequently in dusty conditions)
1.Remove the air cleaner cover by loosen- ing the two thumbscrews. See Figure 18A.

5.Tap filter gently on a hard surface to dislodge debris from element or use com- pressed air from the inside to blow debris out and away from the air filter element.
