4. USE

4.2 Using the timer

The lawn should not be cut too often to obtain the best mowing result. Use the timer function (see

6.3Timer (1) on page 43) to avoid a downtrodden lawn and to get the maximum life from your Automower®. When setting the timer, calculate that Automower® mows around 30 m2 per hour and day. For example; if the working area is 300 m2, the mower must operate for 10 hours a day.

The factory setting for the timer is 07:00-23:00 and it can operate every day of the week. This setting is suitable for a working area of about 500 m2.

The Automower® has an inbuilt rest period of at least 8 hours a day. The rest period provides for instance a good opportunity to water or play games on the lawn.

If the timer setting is divided into two work periods, the rest period can be divided into a number of periods. The maximum operating time can however be a maximum of up to 16 hours. When in operation, the mower alternates between mowing and charging.

Example 1

Work period 1: 07:00 - 23:00

Weekdays: All days

The factory setting ensures that the mower begins cutting the lawn at 07.00. The mower is parked in the charging station from 22.00 and rests until it starts cutting again at 07.00

Example 2

Work period 1: 08:00 - 16:00

Work period 2: 20:00 - 23:00

Weekdays: All days

The mower will operate for the times specified in the work period as the total operating time is 11 hours and does not exceed the maximum of 16 hours.

Example 3

Work period 1: 20:00 - 06:00

Weekdays: Monday to Saturday

The mower will operate from Monday 00:01 to Monday 06:00. It starts again on Monday 20:00 and mows at night until 06:00. It continues to mow at night until Saturday 23.59. It rests on Sunday and starts again on Monday 00:01.

The above times are approximate. The times depend for instance on grass quality, blade sharpness and battery age.

If the size of the working area allows it, the quality of the grass can be further improved if it is cut every other day instead of a few hours every day. In addition, the grass benefits from resting completely during at least a three-day period once a month.
