Normal Operation
Query Media
Type
The Query Media Type command is used to obtain information about one or more media types used in the VolServ system. A report is generated and can be sent to the screen, a specified file, or printer as shown in the screen display below.
The default report produces the following information:
Field Description
MediaType The default type of media associated with
the Media Class.
Valid values are AIT, CTIII (DLT), CTIV
(DLT), D2s, D2M, D2L, D3, DTF, DTF-2,
LTO, MO 5.25, NCTP, RF5.25, ST-120,
3480, 3490, 3490E, 8590, 9840, 8MM,
4MM, and USERTYPE.
Capacity The amount of memory in megabytes in
the medium.
Number of Sides The number of writable surfaces on the
media.
