OPERATION

10.1 Starting the Tractor

The procedure to start the tractor is model specific.
Refer to the tractor operator’s manual for starting
procedures for your particular tractor. Consult an
authorized dealer if the starting procedure is
unclear. Ensure the 3-point control lever is in the
lowered position and the PTO is disengaged before
starting the tractor. OPS-U-0033

10.2 Brake and Differential Lock Setting

Make sure the tractor brakes are in good operating
condition. Tractor brakes can be set to operate
independently allowing single rear wheel braking
action or locked together to provide simultaneous
rear wheel braking. FOR MOST DRIVING AND
OPERATING CONDITIONS, THE BRAKE PEDALS
SHOULD BE LOCKED TOGETHER TO PROVIDE
THE MOST EFFECTIVE BRAKING ACTION.
Always disengage the tractor differential lock when
turning. When engaged the differential lock will
prevent or limit the tractor from turning. During
normal cutting conditions, locking the differential
provides no benefit and should not be used. OPS-U- 0013
Be aware of the operating co nditions. Do no t operate the Tractor with weak or faulty brakes.
When operating down a hill or on wet or rain slick roads, the braking dist ance increases; use
extreme care a nd reduce your speed in thes e conditions. When operatin g in traff ic, always
use the T r actor’s flash ing warning light s and red uce your speed. Be aware of traf fic aroun d you and watch ou
t
for the other guy.
