CHAPTER 2: GETTING TO KNOW YOUR LAPTOP

1Status lights (3) — Indicate if the Scroll Lock, Caps Lock, or Number Lock lights are turned on or off. For more information, see “Status Lights” on page 32.

2Keyboard — The backlit keyboard provides visibility in dark environments by illuminating all symbols on the keys.

3Touch pad buttons (2) — Provide left-click and right-click functions like those on a mouse.

4Touch pad — Provides the functionality of a mouse to move the cursor, drag or move selected items, and left-click by tapping the surface.

5Media control keys (9) — Press the keys to perform the associated action. For more information, see “Media Control Keys” on page 33.

6Power button — Turns the computer on or off when pressed. For more information, see “Power Button” on page 34.
