Använda flera USB-enheter samtidigt

Du kan köpa en USB-hubb och ansluta flera USB-enheter till datorn. Du ansluter USB- hubben till en ledig USB-port på datorn och får på så sätt ett antal extra USB-portar (vanligen fyra eller sju). Höghastighetshubbar kan hantera USB 2.0-enheter liksom USB 1.1-kompatibla enheter. Höghastighets-USB-enheter kan inte användas med högsta dataöverföringshastighet om de ansluts till en USB 1.1-hubb. Vissa USB-hubbar har en nätadapter och ska anslutas till ett eluttag.

Obs! Om du använder en kedja av USB-enheter och -hubbar kanske en del USB- enheter inte fungerar när de är anslutna via en kombination av USB 2.0-hubbar med hög hastighet och USB 1.1-hubbar med lägre hastighet. Till exempel så kanske inte en extern USB-hårddisk visas på skrivbordet. Du undviker det här problemet genom att inte koppla samman USB-enheter med olika hastigheter. Anslut en höghastighetshubb direkt till datorn och anslut höghastighetsenheter till hubben. Anslut en hubb av lägre hastighet till datorn och anslut enheter av likartad hastighet till den hubben.
