När du ansluter en extern bildskärm kan du antingen låta samma bild visas på båda bildskärmarna (kallas skärmbildsdubblering) eller använda den externa bildskärmen till att göra skrivbordet större (utökat skrivbord). PowerBook är förinställd på att starta i läget för utökat skrivbord. Du växlar mellan utökat skrivbord och skärmbildsdubblering med F7-tangenten (i).

Om du vill att det ska komma ljud från en extern bildskärm, via t.ex. en projektor eller tv, ansluter du en ljudkabel från datorns hörlursuttag (f ) till enheten.

Obs! På grund av tekniska begränsningar hos de flesta tv-apparater kommer bilder som visas på tv-skärmen att vara av lägre kvalitet än de som visas på den inbyggda eller den externa bildskärmen.
