Important safety information

Handling Handle iPod shuffle with care. It has sensitive electronic components. iPod shuffle can be damaged if dropped, burned, punctured, or crushed, or if it comes in contact with liquid. Don’t use a damaged iPod shuffle.

Repairing Don’t open iPod shuffle and don’t attempt to repair iPod shuffle by yourself. Disassembling iPod shuffle may cause injury to you or damage to iPod shuffle. If iPod shuffle is damaged, malfunctions, or comes in contact with liquid, contact Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider. You can find more information about obtaining service at www.apple.com/support/ipodshuffle.

Battery Don’t attempt to replace the battery in iPod shuffle yourself as you may damage the battery, which may cause overheating and injury. The lithium-ion battery in the iPod shuffle should be replaced only by Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider, and must be recycled or disposed of separately from household waste. Don’t incinerate the battery. For information about battery recycling and replacement, go to www.apple.com/batteries.

Distraction Using iPod shuffle in some circumstances can distract you and may cause a dangerous situation. Observe rules that prohibit or restrict the use of headphones (for example using headphones while riding a bicycle).

Charging Charge iPod shuffle with the included cable and optional power adapter or other third-party Made for iPod cable and power adapters that are compatible with USB 2.0. Using damaged cables or chargers, or charging when moisture is present, can cause electric shock.

When you use the Apple USB Power Adapter (available separately at www.apple.com/ipodstore) to charge iPod shuffle, make sure that the AC plug or AC power cord is fully inserted into the adapter before you plug it into a power outlet. Power adapters may become warm during normal use, and prolonged contact may cause injury. Always allow adequate ventilation around power adapters when using.
