Lights
ANSWER ON
Lit when the answering system is on and ready to receive calls.
IN USE
Lit when handset is in use or when the answering
CHARGE 
On when handset is charging in the telephone base or charger.
Lighted display 
system is answering an incoming call.
Flashes when another telephone is in use on the same line.
Flashes quickly when there is an incoming call.
VOICEMAIL 
Flashes when you have new voicemail. Voicemail is a service offered by your local telephone company, and is different from answering system messages.

SPEAKER
On when speakerphone is in use.
