Glossary

Idle mode

An operational mode in which the 8400B Plus Data Module is on-hook waiting either for

an incoming call or to originate a call.

Linked mode

An installation option, also called With Telephone, in which the 8400B Plus Data Module

supports both data and voice services.

On-line mode

An operating mode in which the 8400B Plus Data Module transm its all characters coming

from its associated terminal device and does not attempt to interpre t them as co mmands .

Stand-Alone mode

An installation option, also called Without Telephone, in which the 8400B Plus Data

Module supports only data services.
