PROBLEMS. The symbols below are used to help you recognize this information.
DANGER: Indicatesan imminently hazardous situation which, if not avoided,will
resultin death or serious injury.
WARNING: Indicatesa potentially hazardous situation which, if notavoided, could
resultin death or serious injury.
CAUTION: Indicatesa potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided,may
resultin minor or moderate injury.
NOTICE: Usedwithout the safety alert symbol indicates a potentially hazardous
situationwhich, if not avoided, may result in property damage.
General Power ToolSafety Warnings

WARNING!Read all safetywarnings and instructions.Failure to follow the

warningsand instructionsmay result in electric shock,fire and/or serious injury.

Saveall warnings and instructionsfor future reference.

Theterm “power tool” in the warningsrefers to your mains-operated(corded)

powertool or battery-operated(cordless) power tool.

1)Work area safety
a) Keep work areaclean and well lit. Cluttered or darkareas invite accidents.
b) Do notoperate power tools in explosive atmospheres,such as in the presence
offlammable liquids, gases or dust.Powertools create sparks which may ignite
thedust or fumes.
c) Keep childrenand bystanders away while operatinga power tool. Distractions
cancause you to lose control.
2)Electrical safety
a) Power toolplugs must match the outlet. Never modifythe plug in any way. Do
notuse any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded)power tools. Unmodified
plugsand matching outlets will reducerisk of electric shock.
b) Avoidbody contact with earthed or groundedsurfaces such as pipes,
radiators,ranges and refrigerators.There is an increased risk of electricshock if
yourbody is earthed or grounded.
c) Do not exposepower tools to rain or wet conditions.Water entering a power tool
willincrease the risk of electric shock.
d) Do notabuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying,pulling or unplugging
thepower tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil,sharp edges or moving parts.
Damagedor entangled cords increasethe risk of electric shock.
e) When operatinga power tool outdoors, use an extensioncord suitable for
outdooruse. Use ofa cord suitable foroutdoor use reducesthe risk of electricshock.
f)If operating a power toolin a damp location is unavoidable,use a ground fault
circuitinterrupter (GFCI) protectedsupply. Useof a GFCI reduces the risk of
electricshock.
3)Personal safety
a) Stay alert,watch what you are doing and use common sensewhen operating a
powertool. Do not use a power tool while youare tired or under the influence
ofdrugs, alcohol or medication. Amoment of inattention while operating power
toolsmay result in serious personal injury.
b) Usepersonal protective equipment.Always wear eye protection. Protective
equipmentsuch as dust mask, non-skid safetyshoes, hard hat, or hearing protection
usedfor appropriate conditions willreduce personal injuries.
c) Prevent unintentionalstarting. Ensure theswitch is in the off-position before
connectingto power source and/or batterypack, picking up or carrying the
tool.Carrying power tools with your fingeron the switch or energizing powertools
thathave the switch on invites accidents.
