DUALRANGE GEARING (FIGURE G)
The dualrange feature of your drill allows you
to shift gears for greaterversatility. To select
low speed,high torque setting (position 1), turn
tooloff and permit to stop. Slide gear shifter
button (5) away from the chuck. Toselect the
highspeed, low torque setting (position 2), turn
tooloff and permit to stop. Slide gear shifter
button towards the chuck.
NOTE:Do not change gears when tool is
running.If you are having trouble changing
gears,make sure that the dual range gear
buttonis either completely pushed forward or
completelypushed back.
SCREW DRIVING
For drivingfasteners, the reversing button should be pushed to the left. Usereverse
(buttonpushed totheright) forremoving fasteners.When movingfrom forwardto reverse,
orviceversa, alwaysrelease thetrigger switchfirst.
ON BOARD BIT STORAGE (FIGURE H)
Abit storageslot (10)isbuilt-in tothe areajust abovethe
batterypack.
LED Work Light (FIGURE I)
When drill is activated by pulling the trigger switch (1), the
integrated LED work light (6) will automatically illuminate
the work area. Do not use LEDwork light as flashlight.
DRILLING
• Usesharp drill bitsonly.
• Supportand secure workproperly, as instructedin the SafetyInstructions.
• Useappropriate and requiredsafety equipment, asinstructed in theSafety Instructions.
• Secureand maintain workarea, as instructedin the Safety Instructions.
• Runthe drill veryslowly, using lightpressure, until thehole is startedenough to keep the
drillbit fromslipping outofit.
• Applypressure in astraight line with thebit. Use enoughpressure to keepthe bit biting
butnot somuch asto stallthemotor ordeflect thebit.
Holdthe drill firmly with two hands to control its twistingaction.
• DONOT CLICK THETRIGGER OF ASTALLED DRILLOFF ANDON IN ANATTEMPT
TOSTART IT.DAMAGE TOTHE DRILLCANRESULT.
• Minimizestalling on breakthroughby reducing pressureand slowly drillingthrough the
lastpart ofthe hole.
• Keepthe motor runningwhile pulling thebit out of adrilled hole. Thiswill help reduce
jamming.
Makesure switch turns drill on and off.
DRILLING IN WOOD
Holesin woodcan bemade withthesame twistdrill bitsused formetalor withspade bits.
Thesebits shouldbe sharpandshouldbepulled outfrequently whendrillingto clearchips
fromthe flutes.
