Figures C and D

The BODUM® “FYRKAT” Cone Grill can be used in either of two ways: as a barbecue with grill grates (16 / 19) or as a barbecue with rotary spit (17). Please refer to figures C and D for the appropriate assembly instructions.

Barbecue with grill grates (figure C)

If you wish to use the BODUM® Cone Grill with the grill grates, you must first insert the charcoal grate (20) into the grilling bowl (22). Then place the small grill grate (19) with the grate bars pointing down into the grilling bowl (22). Please ensure that the grate bar at the rear is placed exactly into the small holding hook (26) (see fig. C. / detail X) in order to secure the small grill grate (19) in its position.

Next, place the large grill grate (16) with the grate bars pointing up onto the upper edge of the grilling bowl (22) and insert into the slots provided there. Please also ensure that the large grill grate (16) is inserted into the retaining hook (25) (see fig. C / detail Y)

Barbecue with rotary spit (17)

If you wish to use the BODUM® Cone Grill with the rotary spit and barbecue motor, first insert the charcoal grate (20) into the grilling bowl (22). Place the two positioning hooks (9) onto the rotary spit (17) and screw these tight at the desired position. The positioning hooks (9) serve to ensure that food being grilled on the spit (17) rotates evenly. Now insert a battery (LR20, 1.5 V / D, not supplied) into the barbecue motor (12) and insert the barbecue motor into the motor retaining plate (11) from the side. Feed the rotary spit (17) through the hole on the grilling bowl (22) and the motor retaining plate (11) and insert into the square hole of the barbecue motor (12); position the other end of the rotary spit in the slit (21) on the opposite side of the grilling bowl. Please ensure that the guide washer (18) on the rotary spit (17) is located within the grilling bowl (22). This prevents the rotary spit from falling out when barbecuing.

Note: When barbecuing using the rotary spit, the small grill grate (19) and the large grill grate (16) must not be inserted.

Please always use suitable grill utensils (e.g. BODUM® FYRKAT grill utensils) and barbecuing mitts when you wish to insert or remove the charcoal grate (20), the small grill grate (19) or the large grill grate (16).

Before you use the BODUM® Cone Grill for the first time, we recommend that you allow the charcoal to glow for 30 minutes.

Maximum charcoal filling level: 6 cm above the charcoal grate.
