Telephone services

BT Call Sign (For U.K. Only)
This machine feature lets you use the BT Call Sign subscriber
service which allows you to have at least two separate telephone
numbers on one phone line. Ea ch phone number has its own
distinctive ringing pat tern, so you know which phone number i s
ringing. This is one w ay you can have a separate ph one number for
your machine.
Your machine has a BT Call Sign compatible distinctive ringing
function, allowing you t o dedicate a second phone number (on t he
same phone line) just for receiving faxes.
To enable the machine to work with BT Call Sign
(Only with your external phone)

Press Menu/Set, 2, 0, 3.
The screen displays the cur rent setting of this feature.

Press ▲ or ▼ to select On (or Off).

Appendix A

You can switch BT Call Sign off temporarily, then turn it back on.
When you get a new fax number, make sure you reset this
function. This machine will automatically answer incoming calls
that use your new fax number.
When you set the BT Call Sign feat ure to ON, the receive mode
is set to Manual automatically. Manual mode will not respond
to incoming telephone call s, since the number you use for
telephone calls will use the normal ring pattern.
If you turn off BT Call Sign, receive mode stays Manual. You
need to set receive mode ag ain.
