44 Text messaging

You will not be able to receive text messages until you have first sent a message. The first message sent registers you with the text service.

If you have sub-addresses set up If a text message has been sent to a particular sub-address, the symbol will only appear on the handset associated with that sub- address and will be shown as part of the ‘personal SMS’ for that handset. Otherwise, it will be displayed on all handsets and stored in the Inbox.

The number of new messages shown in the display includes messages in your personal SMS box and in the general Inbox.

6.The cursor automatically moves to the right after a couple of seconds. So when the next letter is on the same button as the one you have just entered, wait for the cursor to move to the right before trying to enter it.

Receiving and reading text messages

Received messages are stored in the Inbox. The Inbox can store up to 15 messages.

When you receive a new text message, the symbol flashes in the display along with the number of new messages (e.g. 3 New Msgs). The Messages Indicator on the base flashes and you will hear the new message alert beeps (provided they are set to on).

To view the most recent message details:

1.Press Menu to open the main menu.

2.The number for the most recent message is displayed, press Menu to display the message.

3.Scroll or to move through the message.

4.Press Menu to view further menu options.
