Troubleshooting

Changing between recording (ÜREC) and record pause (STBY) takes longer than usual.

-When the SD card contains a large number of clips, some operations may take longer than usual. Save your clips (A123) and initialize the SD card (A40). Alternatively, replace the SD card.

The camcorder cannot record to an SD card properly.

- This may occur as recordings are made and deleted over time. Save your clips (A123) and initialize the SD card (A40).

After using the camcorder for a long time, it becomes hot.

-The camcorder may become hot after using it continuously for long periods of time; this is not a malfunction. If the camcorder becomes unusually hot or it becomes hot after using it only for a short while, it may indicate a problem with the camcorder. Consult a Canon Service Center.

Playback

Cannot delete clips or photos.

-Clips and photos that were protected using other devices cannot be deleted with the camcorder.

-The LOCK switch on the SD card is set to prevent accidental erasure. Change the position of the LOCK switch.

Deleting clips takes longer than usual.

-When the SD card contains a large number of clips, some operations may take longer than usual. Save your clips (A123) and initialize the SD card (A40).

Cannot copy clips.

-There is not enough available space on the SD card being copied to or the SD card already contains the maximum number of clips (3,999 clips). Delete some clips (A112) to free some space or replace the SD card.

Cannot select clips or photos.

- You cannot select more than 100 individual clips or photos. Use the [All] option instead of [Select].

Indicators and Onscreen Displays

ìlights up in red.

- Battery pack is exhausted. Replace or charge the battery pack.

íappears on the screen.

-The camcorder cannot communicate with the battery pack attached so the remaining battery time cannot be displayed.

The tally lamps do not illuminate.

- Set [Other Functions] >[Tally Lamp] >[Front] or [Rear] to [On].

The tally lamps flash quickly. (4 flashes per second)

-The battery pack is exhausted. Replace or charge the battery pack.

-There is not enough available space on both SD cards. Delete some clips (A112) to free some space or replace the SD card.

-A system error has occurred. Turn off the camcorder and back on again. If this does not solve the problem, consult a Canon Service Center.

The tally lamps flash slowly.

(1 flash per second)

- The combined available space on both SD cards is low. Replace the SD card.

*appears in red on the screen.

-An SD card error occurred. Turn off the camcorder. Remove and reinsert the SD card. Initialize the SD card (A40) if the display does not change back to normal.

-The SD card is full. Replace the SD card or delete some clips (A112) or photos (A129) to free some space on the SD card.

Even after stopping recording, the SD card access indicator stays illuminated in red. - The clip is being recorded. This is not a malfunction.

appears in yellow on the screen.

- The camcorder’s internal temperature has reached a predetermined level. You can continue using the camera.

appears in red on the screen.

-In mode, when [Other Functions] >[Fan] is set to [Automatic], the cooling fan will start automatically ( appears on the screen).
