Using AF to Focus (AF Method)

The dedicated AF sensor is used to focus in One-Shot AF mode (p.100), using the same AF method as with viewfinder shooting. Although you can focus the target area quickly, the Live View image will be interrupted momentarily during the AF operation.

In AF area selection modes other than 19-point automatic selection AF, you can manually select the AF point. In Basic Zone modes, 19-point automatic selection AF is set automatically.

Area AF frame 1 Display the Live View image.

Press the <0> button.

X The Live View image will appear on the LCD monitor.

If the AF area selection mode is set to 19-point automatic selection AF, the Area AF frame will be displayed. With FlexiZone - Single (manual selection), the AF point will be displayed as a small frame.

With Zone AF (manual zone selection), the frame indicating the zone is displayed.

2 Select the AF area selection mode and AF point. N

Press the <B> button to display the current AF area selection mode. Each time you press the <B> button, the AF area selection mode changes. When the AF area selection mode is FlexiZone - Single (manual selection) or Zone AF (manual zone selection), you can select the AF point (or zone).
