Unlessthe passenger’s airbag or airbags have been
turnedoff, never put a rear-facing child restraint in this
vehicle.Here is why:
{CAUTION:
Achild in a rear-facing child restraint can be
seriouslyinjured or killed if the passenger’s
airbaginflates. This is because the back of the
rear-facingchild restraint would be very close
tothe inflating airbag. Do not use a rear-facing
childrestraint in this vehicle unless the
passenger’sfrontal airbag and side impact
airbag(if equipped) have been turned off.
CAUTION: (Continued)
CAUTION: (Continued)
Eventhough the airbag off switch is designed to
turnoff the passenger’s frontal airbag and side
impactairbag (if equipped), no system is
fail-safe,and no one can guarantee that an
airbagwill not deploy under some unusual
circumstance, even though it is turned off. We
recommendthat rear-facing child restraints be
transportedin vehicles with a rear seat that will
accommodatea rear-facing child restraint,
wheneverpossible.
Ifyou need to secure a forward-facing child
restraintin the passenger seat, always move the
passengerseat as far back as it will go.
