Airbag System
Your vehicle has a frontal airbag for the driver, another
frontal airbag for the passenger. Your vehicle may
also have a side impact airbag for the driver, and
another side impact airbag for the passenger.
Frontalairbags are designed to help reduce the risk of
injuryfrom the force of an inflating frontal airbag. But
theseairbags must inflate very quickly to do their job and
complywith federal regulations.
Here are the most important things to know about the
airbag system:
{CAUTION:
You can be severely injured or killed in a crash
if you are not wearing your safety belt — even
if you have airbags. Wearing your safety belt
during a crash helps reduce your chance of
hitting things inside the vehicle or being
ejected from it. Airbags are designed to work
with safety belts but do not replace them.

CAUTION: (Continued)
Frontalairbags for the driver and right front
passengerare designed to deploy only in
moderateto severe frontal and near frontal
crashes. They are not designed to inflate in
rollover, rear or low-speed frontal crashes, or in
manyside crashes. And, for some unrestrained
occupants,frontal airbags may provide less
protectionin frontal crashes than more forceful
airbagshave provided in the past.
Sideimpact airbags for the driver and right front
passengerare designed to inflate only in
moderateto severe crashes where something
hitsthe side of your vehicle. They are not
designedto inflate in frontal, in rollover or in
rearcrashes.
Everyonein your vehicle should wear a safety
beltproperly — whether or not there is an
airbagfor that person.
