Rocking Your Vehicle to Get It Out
First, turn your steering wheel left and right. That will clear
thearea around your front wheels. If your vehicle has
tractioncontrol, you should turn your traction control
systemoff. See Traction Control System (TCS) on
page4-8. Then shift back and forth between
REVERSE(R) and a forward gear, spinning the wheels
aslittle as possible. Release the accelerator pedal while
youshift, and press lightly on the accelerator pedal when
thetransaxle is in gear. By slowly spinning your wheels in
theforward and reverse directions, you will cause a
rockingmotion that may free your vehicle. If that does not
getyou out after a few tries, you may need to be towed
out.If you do need to be towed out, see Towing Your
Vehicleon page 4-34.
Loading Your Vehicle
Itis very important to know how much weight your vehicle
cancarry. Two labels on your vehicle show how much
weightit may properly carry, the Tire and Loading
Informationlabel and the Vehicle Certiļ¬cation label.
{CAUTION:
Do not load your vehicle any heavier than the
Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR), or either
the maximum front or rear Gross Axle Weight
Rating (GAWR). If you do, parts on your
vehicle can break, and it can change the way
your vehicle handles. These could cause you
to lose control and crash. Also, overloading
can shorten the life of your vehicle.
