Configuring ISDN ports settings
Cisco TelePresence ISDN Gateway 2.1 Online help (Printable format) 80 of 135
match the settings on the switch.
These settings affect the per-port ISDN configuration of the Cis co TelePresence ISDN Gateway when
it is leased line mode. Use these settings to enable the ports and to configure leased line groups. To
access these settings, go to Settings > ISDN ports.
In leased line mode, there is no way to dynamically dec ide how many B-channels to use in a call
(because that requires the D-channel); instead, both devic es must be set up with the same "leased
line groups". In this way, a number of B-channels are group ed together and are used simultaneously
as a pipe for audio and video data.
Refer to the table below for information about the settings . After making changes, click App ly
changes and then restart the ISDN Gateway for the changes to leas ed line groups to take effect.

make and receive ISDN calls.
Leased line
group
Indicates the number of the leased line
group.
You can configure a maximum of five
numbered leased line groups. Each
group is a collection of contiguous B-
channels for that port.
Start channel
Select the lowest numbered B-channel
that will be in this leased line group.
The B-channels that you select must be
in contiguous blocks and not span PRIs.
The B-channels that you configure for
this group on the ISDN Gateway must
match exactly the groups configured on
the leased line to which it is connected.
For each PRI you can use B-channels
1-31 in E1 mode and 1-24 in T1 mode.
However, on the MSE 8310 and 3200
series ISDN gateways this is further
limited to channels 1-15 and 17-31 in E1
mode and channels 1-23 in T1 mode.
Number of
channels
Select the number of B-channels that
will be in this leased line group.
Setting this to 0 means that this leased
line group is not used.
