Beginning in privileged EXEC mode, follow these steps to configure a remote or spoke router for EIGRP
stub routing:
Enter the show ip eigrp neighbor detail privileged EXEC command from the distribution router to
verify the configuration.

Command Purpose
Step 1 configure terminal Enter global configuration mode.
Step 2 router eigrp 1 Configure a remote or distribution router to run an EIGRP process and
enter router configuration mode.
Step 3 network network-number Associate networks with an EIGRP routing process.
Step 4 eigrp stub [receive-only | connected |
static | summary] Configure a remote router as an EIGRP stub router. The keywords have
these meanings:
Enter receive-only to set the router as a receive-only neighbor.
Enter connected to advertise connected routes.
Enter static to advertise static routes.
Enter summary to advertise summary routes.
Step 5 end Return to privileged EXEC mode.
Step 6 show ip eigrp neighbor detail Verify that a remote router has been configured as a stub router with
EIGRP. The last line of the output shows the stub status of the remote or
spoke router.
Step 7 copy running-config startup-config (Optional) Save your entries in the configuration file.
