Using SS7Cfg to Configure Your

Gateway

Overview

For the purposes of this exercise, the following sample network configuration will be used to set up an SS7 Generic (ITU) gateway using SS7Cfg.

Note The example exercise configures the network interface from the bottom up, which is consistent with the way SS7Cfg was defined. (Notice that only Gateway 1 will be configured in this example.)

In Figure 2-1, Gateway 1 has four links connecting to two different Signal Transfer Points (STPs). Each STP is connected by two links combined into a linkset. Gateway 1 has a point code of 150 and is connected to two STPs with point codes of 10 and 11. Behind the STPs are two Service Switching Points (SSPs) at point codes 200 and 201.
