When maximum performance is selected, the processor operates at full (100 %) speed. When battery optimised mode is selected, the processor operates at approximately 80 % of the maximum performance mode.

Optimizing Processor Speed

(available on select models)

Some Presario Notebook models use the Pentium III Processor featuring Intel® SpeedStepTechnology. This technology gives you the capability to optimise your Notebook’s processor speeds based on the power source in use.

The default SpeedStep icons for each power source are listed below:

The chequered flag icon in the system tray on the Windows taskbar indicates External AC Power and Maximum Performance.

The non-chequered flag icon in the system tray on the Windows taskbar indicates Battery Optimised Performance.

To change the setting for either power source, AC or battery, right-click the SpeedStep icon in the System Tray and select either

Battery Optimised Performance or Maximum Performance.
